Happy Sunday !
Here we go, what was going on this week.
Short version ?
Waiting for the other Titans to arrive.
So in the mean time... Instead of working on the next order like I should have.... I decided to work on a small project I had on the back burner for a long time, about a year or two.
Back then I stocked up on 10 of these little bust after seeing Roman Lappat's " Emotions " project.
Little tangent, if you don't know Roman, look him up, for many years he has been my absolute favorite miniature painter out there.
I find this piece absolutely perfect for learning about faces.
There is not much going on, it's basically, black if not for the facial expression and scars. It also has very well defined volumes which makes it easier to know where to put light and shadows so you can spend more time on colors.
So here is the collection so far
I gave myself a few rules here.
First, only ONE of these used pre-mixed flesh colors as a template, using my usual flesh recipe, one I have been using for years now.
All the other used Yellow, Blue, Red, Black, White and magenta.
I introduced browns and greens for my first real try at African skin and the green dood.
Second, No airbrush ( except for the template and green ones ) everything needs to be done by paint brush exclusively using mostly wet blending in the style of Alfonso Giraldes Aka Banshee ( another painter that NEEDS to be checked out )
And finally, the goal being t learn and not to end up with a perfect bust, 30 minutes max for the skin tones, 45 minutes max for the entire bust.
That way I can move from on to another fairly fast and learn more or at least, different things.
So, that it for this project.
I still have a few units waiting and then will need to build a nice base for the entire project.
Now on to commissions.
I decided to put the Titans aside for now, as I already lost too much time waiting for them so... on to the next project.
A mix of Cursed city and Blackstone Fortress extensions for a regular client.
First of, assembly and basing of the entire thing exception for Blackstone. The bases are going to be green marble so, no texture applied.
And priming, ready to be painted next week.
Unless the titans arrive early Monday morning but DPD being DPD, I doubt that.
And Finally...
A few 3D prints of the week.
Parts for the third varient of the Cerastus knight ( Lancer )
And all built up with sub assembly for easier painting.
Since I got my three Cerastus on 4 Armingers... On to the BIG one of the project
Do you get it ?
Warhound... Titan...
WARHOUND TITAN ! Whoop whoop !
And you can see a few Bloodleters in the back that I tried printed for a buddy who'd like a Khorne deamons army for Aos and 40K.
So my friends... That's gonna be it for the week.
Hopefully next week will be a bit more eventful than the previous few since I finally have a course of action instead of waiting for minis to arrive.
Either they arrive and progress will be made or, next project is ready and progress will be made haha.
Alright, have a good folks and see you next week !
